Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon - December 5th

We are still looking for those parents who like to cook. If you are interested in helping us out by preparing a dish for us to serve to our beloved staff and teachers, please give Margie King, 602-840-5404 or Beth Penney, 480-951-7824 a call.

It’s important that you speak to one of us prior to bringing something, because we do, believe or not, have a method to our madness! It’s a great feeling to be able to show off your culinary skills and treat our teachers to a special luncheon in their honor...beats buying those teachers gifts, they have enough apples anyway!

The Xavier staff LOVES this luncheon, and it’s only made possible if our fabulous parents help us out and participate. We are also in great need of volunteers the day of the event. If you have ANY time on Friday, December 5th, please let us know, because we’ll take that 1 hour you have in between dropping off your child and heading to the gym. If you can give us two hours or six hours, either way, it works for us. We aren’t too picky, just please grab a friend and come on down to the multi-purpose gym on Friday, Dec. 5 anytime from 8:30 am on, and we’ll put you to work...easy stuff though.

Do you like to decorate, we can use you. Besides, you might just decide you like it, and you’ll want to be involved next year too. It’s a great group of ladies and we really enjoy putting this very special event on in honor of our wonderful staff. We are looking for about 20 volunteers to help us set up his enormous event. We serve 150, very important people at this luncheon. Please do your year end good-will gesture and come join us!

If you would, please email Kim Cerchiai at cerchiai@cox.net to let us know when you would be able to stop in and help. We have to have some idea how many volunteers we will have that day, so don’t forget to let us know whether you prefer to bring food, or help with set-up, we will be very grateful to all who can join us. Thanks for supporting Xavier.

Christmas Faculty/Staff Luncheon

This annual event is 13 days away. Margie King wants to hear from anyone that is interested in donating a dish (desserts, salads, sides, pastas, etc) for the luncheon. We are also looking for side dishes, Italian or Mexican dishes in addition to the others mentioned. Dishes should serve 20 people.

Email Margie at fudge4me@cox.net with questions, or preferences on what you would like to bring.

The luncheon is on Friday, December 5th, 2008 ~ 12pm.   We are collecting items early that morning (drop off) 7:30 am or whenever they can drop off their dish before 11 am in the snack bar area kitchen.

All students were sent home with a pledge sheet that can be filled out if any family member or friend is planning to or has already contributed to CTODP-Xavier. Each pledge sheet turned in by a student is entered into a drawing for several awesome prizes! The deadline to return the pledge sheets is November 24, 2008! Tuesday, December 2.

For any questions regarding the pledge sheet or CTODP-Xavier, please contact Amy O’Sullivan at 602.240.3136. For additional copies of pledge sheets, you can download using this link. Thank you for your support!

C-Corp businesses who have Arizona tax liability can redirect up to the entire amount of their liability to support the tuition of Xavier students. If you or someone that you know owns a C-Corp, please con

  • "Scrip (gift cards) is an amazing source of scholarship funds for our students."
    Sr. Joan Fitzgerald

Many parents have asked about gift cards for teacher appreciation gifts for Christmas. Xavier S.H.O.P.S! has special gift certificates of all denominations that can be redeemed for gift cards.

As a side note, Xavier S.H.O.P.S! gift cards does not sell any gift cards for retail stores that are closing, like Circuit City and Sharper Image.

For the Christmas season, many retailers have raised the percentage discounts that Xavier earns on their gift cards, so we are able to make more money on our sales right now. Please consider purchasing gift cards to use as gifts or to use to buy gifts when making your gift giving decisions.

             We  have Target gift cards!

Also keep in mind that grocery gift cards manage to stay recession proof.  In fact, many Valley food banks and non-profit organizations are asking for grocery gift cards so families in need can purchase food items for Thanksgiving and Christmas. "Vista del Camino is asking for a $25 grocery card so families can purchase a turkey or ham."  East Valley Tribune Nov 16, 2008

The gift card table is open at the Traffic Circle on Tuesdays from 7:15-8:30am and Thursdays from 2:30-3:45pm
